MSF31113 - Certificate III in Cabinet Making

Cabinetmakers make or repair furniture (both free-standing and fixed) using solid timber, flat-panel or timber-based products; and a wide range of laminates and other materials.

You will develop the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of skills at trade level to work in the manufacture and installation of fitted furniture typically in a kitchen, bathroom and related context.

The work is in a defined range of skilled operations, usually within a range of broader related activities involving known routines, methods and procedures, where some discretion and judgement is required in the selection of equipment, services or contingency measures and within known time constraints.

Course Overview

  • Entry Requirments:
    • Students must be indentured as an apprentice in the industry.

    • Trainers:
    • Licensed, qualified and experienced trainers who are working in the industry.

      • Highlighter
    • How will I be assessed?
      • We will assess you for your achieved skills and knowledge required by the course.

      • Assessment may include oral, practical or written assessment methods.

      • We will advise you in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be provided with this information.
